Our Hertswise Carers Peer Support service provides support to help improve the emotional and physical wellbeing of those caring for a person with dementia.
Peer support has been shown to empower individuals and support them to feel connected, reduce isolation and loneliness and has a positive impact on wellbeing.
Through lived experience, our peer support worker can help guide and support you through similar challenges you may be facing. Support is provided through
- One to one telephone calls
- One to one outreach
- Peer Learning Sets via Zoom focusing on quality of life and wellbeing.
- Peer Support Drop-in session via Zoom
One to One peer support provides carers with a safe and confidential environment to talk about their experiences and explore any issues they may be having.
Our group sessions are online in a relaxed and informal setting that encourages peer support and are an opportunity for you to connect with other carers, sharing experiences and building sustainable and empowering support networks.
Hertswise Peer Support Drop-in sessions run every Tuesday from 11am-12noon
Hertswise Peer Learning Sets take place every Friday 10am – 12:30pm
